Prince Edward Island, Canada.
Island Lavender Distillery's owner, Trish Tymstra:
"I started with a desire for all-natural beauty products and began creating formulas in my little farmhouse kitchen, which lead to setting up a booth at the markets in Charlottetown, to opening my farm and gift shop in the summer months! As the demand grew so did I. We now have a year-round shop location at Founders' Hall in Charlottetown as well. My husband Paul, and daughters Lauren & Nikki have come together to run Island Lavender Distillery as a family, and make my little lavender dream a reality."
ABOUT THE LAVENDER FARM
Open seasonally to visitors, Island Lavender Distillery is located in the beautiful rolling hills of St. Catherines / Bonshaw, PEI. We dug our first hole in 2014, and now have approximately 5000 lavender plants on our ten acres.
The Lavender Farm is surrounded by a surplus of flower gardens, private forest and trails, with waterfront views of the Bonshaw River.
Our Lavender rows consist of English Lavender varieties, Hidcote and Munstead, and a French Phenomenal. We offer U-Pick Harvest in July when the Lavender is in full bloom, where visitors can harvest their own bundle to take home.
All Natural Products
Our Gift Shop carries a wide range of All Natural products, handmade at the Lavender Farm using pure, quality ingredients including Lavender Essential Oil distilled right here at the lavender farm.
Our product line includes Skincare, Body, Bath, and Home products. Our Best-Sellers include Luxury Soap Bars, Essential Oil Bath Bombs, Lavender Goat Milk Body Lotion, and Hand Poured Soy Wax Candles.
You can order our products online under the "SHOP" section. We offer Canada-wide Shipping and local delivery / pick-up in PEI. Or visit us in person at our Gift Shop at the Lavender Farm in July, or year-round at Founders' Hall & Market in Charlottetown.
Essential Oil Distillery
We harvest our lavender when it is in full bloom, and we steam-distill with a copper distiller in small batches at the farm. This process can take weeks, but we enjoy every second of the beautiful therapeutic aroma the lavender gives off as we distill.
We use our 100% pure lavender essential oil and lavender floral water in our wide range of handmade products. We also bottle some of our Island Distilled Lavender Essential Oil to sell in our Gift Shop & online store (but it goes fast!)
No, unfortunately we do not distill alcohol (maybe one day!) However, our lavender buds are culinary grade, so feel free to use them in your own at-home cocktail recipes!
